Privacy Policy
How Inkpress handles your photos, advertising, analytics and crash reports, and your privacy choices.
About this policy
This policy applies to the Inkpress Android app published by Mastermind Apps (“we”, “us”). It explains what information the app and the services it uses handle, why, and the choices you have.
Inkpress has no accounts, cloud sync or developer-operated server. It does not ask for your name, email, contacts, microphone or location, and it requests no camera or photo-library permission. Editing and exporting work offline; ads, analytics and crash reports use an internet connection when one is available.
Your photos
Photos reach the app only when you pick one with Android's photo picker, take one with your camera app, or open the bundled sample. Inkpress copies the photo into its private storage on your device and applies every effect on your device. We never upload or receive your photos.
Projects, thumbnails, saved Looks, drafts and settings stay in the app's private storage. Automatic Android backup is turned off for the app.
Images you export are saved to Pictures/Inkpress on your device and stay there until you delete them.
Sharing happens only when you use Android's share sheet; the app you share to handles the image under its own
policy. Setting a wallpaper passes the image to Android's wallpaper service.
Exports remove photo metadata (EXIF) by default. If you turn on Keep EXIF when exporting, the saved file keeps supported camera, date, exposure and location details from the original, and anyone you share it with can read them.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob: a banner on the home screen and, after a few exports and never in your first session, an occasional full-screen ad when you leave the editor. The editor itself never shows ads. Google's advertising SDK may collect or receive:
- Network informationYour IP address, which can indicate an approximate location.
- Device identifiersAdvertising ID, app set ID and similar identifiers.
- InteractionsApp launches, ad impressions and taps.
- DiagnosticsTechnical information about app and SDK performance.
Google uses this for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, where you allow it, ad personalisation. See Google's SDK data disclosure, how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)
To learn which features are used and to fix problems, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics:
- Feature useFor example opening a photo, saving a Look, exporting (format, number of layers) and setting a wallpaper. Never your photos, their content, file names, Look or project names.
- App and device informationApp version, device model, Android version, language, approximate country, and a per-installation app instance ID.
- Crash reportsThe state of the app when it crashes or an error occurs, to help us fix it.
Where Google's consent message applies, analytics follows the choice you make there. See Privacy and security in Firebase.
Your choices
- Ad consent: where required (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before ads use your data. You can change it at any time with Ad privacy choices in Studio settings.
- Advertising ID: you can reset or delete it in your device's privacy or Google settings.
- Ad preferences: My Ad Center.
Retention and deletion
You can delete projects and saved Looks in the app. Everything in the app's private storage is removed with Android Settings → Apps → Inkpress → Storage → Clear data, or by uninstalling the app; exported images stay in your gallery until you delete them. Analytics data is kept by Google Analytics for at most 14 months and crash reports for at most 90 days. Other information held by Google follows Google's retention policies and controls. If you email us, we keep the correspondence only as long as needed to help you.
Security and transfers
Your photos stay in Android's app-private storage. Google encrypts the data its SDKs send in transit. Google and our email provider may process information outside your country under their own safeguards.
Children
Inkpress is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will help remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app or its services change. The date at the top shows the current version.
